Spring Break 2016

For Spring Break this year we surprised the kids and took them to a hotel in Ogden for the weekend. They had no idea when we picked them up from school that the whole trunk was packed with their stuff. We planned on doing alot of fun activities. We started off by bringing the kids on the Heber Creeper they have always wanted to go on a "real" train and so we look a 2 hr ride around a lake. They had a fun show with train robbers and live singing and dancing. It was a fun ride on the train. 

Spring Break part 2 Upton Cemetery

Growing up every Memorial Day my moms side of the family would go up to Upton Utah to go camping at flatrock. This is where my grandpa grew up and we would always hear stories about grandpas childhood on the ride up. I always remember that we would go to the cemetery first because I have a lot of ancestors buried up there and we would bring up Iris flowers from my moms yard. I would have to hold the vase every year and make sure the water didn't spill. I hated this job because these flowers always had ear wigs in them. So I was always so happy when we got there and we could put the flowers on the graves :)

I remember as a kid always climbing flatrock with my siblings and shooting potguts and putting our watermelon in the lake to get cold. We have alot of fun memories there but its been at least 15 years from the last time I was there. A few years back the property was sold and the land was no longer used for camping.   

I always wanted to be able to bring my kids there to be able to climb the rock just one time and redo a memory from my childhood. So on our way back from Park City we stopped and jumped over the trespassing fences to climb the rock. The kids thought that we were going to jail for sure so I told them that we better hurry before the police came lol

We were only there for about 10 min and hurry and took some pics so that we could get out of there before people came but it was really cool to be able to have my kids climb the rock. Its so much bigger then I remember it being and a lot steeper lol 

 On our way out of Upton we found a field full of wild turkeys that were making tons of noise so the kids wanted to get out and have a closer look.
