Family Vacation 2009

Well this year we asked Dallin where he wanted to go on the family vacation and he said San Diego Zoo. And so after saving all year on 5-14-09 we packed up the camper and headed south on our 14 hour trip to San Diego. The first night we stayed in St. George and got there at 3:00 in the morning. (David didn't get off work until 8:00) and then we got up at 8:00 the next morning and drove the rest of the way to California. I must add that Dallin did amazing in the car that long I can't believe how good and patient he was.
We stayed in California for 7 days and then we headed back to Las Vegas for three days until we came home on Monday night the 25th. It was a really fun trip and we have a lot of memories from the trip that will last forever. Also the 1200 pics that we took and a whole camcorder tape full of movies lol.
It was a much needed get away to be just us as a family and we are very lucky that we are able to go on vacation every year.

San Diego Zoo

On day one we went to San Diego Zoo. It was a perfect day for the zoo a little overcast so that it was not to hot and a perfect breeze to keep it nice. We had a really fun time looking at all of the different animals. There was a lot of animals that are not at the Hogle Zoo Dallin really liked the sea otters and the turtles. They also had a ski ride that takes you over to the polar bears. So against my will I was forced onto the ride. (I hate heights) but i'm glad to say we made it safely across 4 times ha ha. And it was well worth it to see the polar bears playing in the water. Its a really fun pretty zoo with flowers and trees everywhere you look. And we all had a great time.

Sea World

On day 2 we went to Sea World. I think that it was all our favorite place of the trip it was so much fun and there was so much to see and do. We had to break it up into 2 days so that we could see everything. I would have been happy spending everyday of our vacation there. We had the best time. It was hard for me to pick what pictures to post because we took about 300 just at Sea World alone.

Dallin is such a daredevil and he has no fear of anything and so when he saw the Journey to Atlantis ride he said that he had to go on it. I was not thrilled about him going on it considering it had a 60 ft drop at the start and the rest of the roller coaster was behind the building and you couldn't see it. But the height requirement was 42 inches and so he made it by the spikes of his hair. And so needless to say as I stood in the waiting area having a panic attack he went on it and had the time of his life. And then went on it again and again and again I think in total between the two days he went a total of 7 times. Thats them in the back row if you can't tell.

These are the ugliest eels that I have ever seen... Don't ever want to see them in the ocean.

Dallin wanted the big shamu from the gift shop but because it was $75.00 we told him that he could have his picture taken by it instead. Lucky for us he is still young enough to think that's a pretty good deal.
