Lets go for a Hike

After the zoo we went up the canyon and had a hot dog roast and went for a little hike. We always go up the canyon to late so we can never go on a very long hike but it was still fun. One of these days we will need to go up and do a real hike.

 The kids love to see what they can find. They counted all the different colors of the flowers along the path and saw giant ants.

 They also each found a seashell along the path.

 And when we got back to the camp there was a big fuzzy caterpillar on our firewood so Dallin played with him for a while.

Back to the zoo

The good thing about having a zoo membership is its always something to do for free. We went back up to the zoo the other day to let the kids run around and be out in the fresh air. Here are a bunch more random pics from the zoo. Its always the same animals but you still always see something new.

We were finally able to see the polar bear in the water. He only got in for a min but it was fun to watch him play. The trainers threw in a giant chunk of ice in the water and he dived right in and got it and then went right up to the window to chew it up. Logan thought that it was pretty cool to see the huge bear right in front of him.

 After he got in the water he rolled around in the dirt and turned into a brown bear lol

 I think that my favorite part of the zoo is the Ape building. I love to watch the gorillas they are amazing. I probably spent a good half hour just watching him. Im going to have to go to the zoo alone so that I can sit in there all day lol

 Logan was playing with the baby orangutan and they were making faces at each other.

 He also had fun chasing the chickens around the field.

 By the end of the day it started to cool off and the brown bears were in the water playing around.
